As part of our fascination with family genealogy, we have checked out the history of our home including its Second Empire architectural style, the builder Jacob C. Whitcher and, over time, the owners/occupants. Some of the information collected is included below. Through wonderful research and advocacy by the Woburn Historical Commission, The Massachusetts Historical Commission (MHC) has included this home in the Inventory of Historic Assets of the Commonwealth (for exciting resources see the Massachusetts Cultural Resource Information System—MACRIS). There is the possibility of this home being included in the National Register of Historic Places for Massachusetts.
